Our Missionary Efforts

Cuba

CUBA - Ammiel Pérez and Co-laborers

The New Road Church of Christ has the privilege and responsibility of oversight of some of the work in Cuba.  At the present time there are six churches in Havana and five of these are overseen by our elders.  In these five  congregations there are nearly 300 members.

Together with the Church in Whitney and the Church in West, we also support twenty-five children in the Havana area.  It takes about $25.00 a month to provide food, clothing, school supplies and other necessities for each child.  All of the children are in Bible classes and worship   services.

The churches in Havana have several outreaches including feeding elderly Christians, providing prescription eyeglasses, a Preacher Training and Bible School, an annual Youth Conference, a Ladies’ Conference and a Lectureship for all Christians.

The work in Cuba is growing fast.  In 1991 there were nine (9) congregations in Cuba.  Now there are over 140 with about 5,000 Christians.  Hundreds of people are being baptized each year in Cuba.

Dear brethren, our prayers for you that the good Lord of heaven richly bless you. We are fine, thank God.

We want to tell you that we normally send you a brief report of the things we usually do here. It is not a detailed  information, neither it is everything we do, that we gladly could tell you. But this we report you so  that you can have a general idea of our work.

Lazaro Linares:   taught Bible class during the mid-week meeting and on Sunday morning, and continued visiting the elderly people from our congregation, delivering some material help we give them, such as powder milk, soap and a piece of frozen chicken.

Jose Luis Hernandez: continued his work with our Children Sunday School, preached in San Miguel congregation on Sunday evening, and visited the sick brethren during the week.

Lucas Montero: taught Bible class on Tuesday in San Matias, on Wednesday in Marti neighborhood, on Sunday in his house (where the local is being built), and on Sunday in San Miguel congregation. He also visited the members and did some evangelism during the week.

Leonardo Rabaza: taught Bible class on Sunday, and Thursday in La Lisa congregation; also, visited the members during the week, and had a Bible study with a non-Christian.

Orlando Marin & Jesus Reyes: conducted the evening service on Sunday in 10 October congregation, preaching and teaching, visited the members during the week and the sick during the week, and did some work of evangelism on Monday and Thursday at the entrance of our church local.

As always, we are sending our regards to the brethren, having you in our prayers so that the peace of our Lord

 Jesus be with you all.

 In Christian love,

The Preachers from 10 October Church of Christ.
